First Russian-Asian business meetings

First Russian-Asian business meetings themed as "Saint Petersburg as a convenient location for Asian companies" will be held on December 15-17, 2010 in Saint Petersburg. The business meetings are organized by the leading Russian information agency "RIA Novosti" to bring together analysts for a discussion of the long-term perspectives for economic cooperation between Russia and countries throughout Asia.

The business meetings will focus discussion on the direction that multi-level economic cooperation should take in the long term, and on letting Russian, South Korean, Indian, Vietnamese, Japanese and Chinese business communities know about the projects that are currently being implemented. From December 15 to 17, RIA Novosti’s multi-media platforms will, as part of this initiative, host video conferences between cities in Russian regions and Asian capitals. Analyst round table discussions will take place at the St. Petersburg media center.

Analysts will discuss the prospects for relocating production facilities, possible cooperation between the scientific community and companies of the automotive industry, the measures taken to expand the regional pharmaceutical cluster, as well as the prospects for channeling Chinese investment in Russian development projects.

Government officials from Russia and countries across Asia, representatives of the St. Petersburg administration, CEOs of major global manufacturing companies, financial institutions, universities and research centers, developer companies and Russian-Asian public organizations are all expected to attend.
